How refreshing!

I ventured out onto the deck this morning and quickly realized something had changed. The heavy humidity that would normally take my breath away was missing as I watered our herbs. For the first time in a VERY long time there was actually a chill in the air. The cool breeze that greeted and stayed with me as I ventured down the steps and went about my gardening was a pleasant departure from the last couple of months. The heat and heavy damp air have taken a toll on this artist and to be honest, I was growing quite tired of summer.

Mother Nature was looking out for me today as I turn my thoughts toward fall. I could close my eyes and imagine our front stoop decorated with pumpkins and corn stalks. Even though I am thoroughly enjoying the abundances from the garden, I long for soup to cook on the stove and fill our home with rich spicy smells. I look forward to baking and not worrying about the oven battling the air conditioner for control of the thermostat.

It is a perfect day to focus on all things fall … the studio like today's weather is a welcome transformation. Fall décor is coming out and orange paint tones are now in the mix. I may even make soup … poblano pepper and corn chowder sounds perfect! : )
