Balance

When I heard that word earlier today, it jumped out at me.

I had struggled with New Year’s resolutions. Sure I had a long list of projects that need completing – a new faucet to put in, holiday décor to take down, deep cleaning and sorting of numerous drawers-nooks-crannies and closets, holiday returns, laundry to catch up on, socks to be paired and folded (a giant undertaking on its own! Believe me!) shelving to construct in the storage room, trim and molding to put in place, hallways and entries to be painted and a freezer to defrost and sort. My list of to-do’s was long, but it is far from any resolve that I wished to carry on throughout the whole year.

I like the word “balance”. I am a Libra and the scales after all are my symbol. As the only inanimate sign of the zodiac you would think this should stand out to me, but obviously it hasn’t (or has it and that is why that word JUMPED out at me!).

The more I think about it, the more exciting it is! It encompasses so many things! Balance work with play. Know that the bad day will be followed by a better one. Give and take, yin and yang, old and new, and what I want to concentrate on most, is a sense of balance within. SO as I start this new day (filled with sun after so many days of clouds and snow) and as I settle into this New Year I happily go forward seeking balance and I hope you do too.
