At Long Last ...

I actually found myself in the studio earlier this week.  It may have been gardening in the heat and humidity that drove me seek out a cool spot to spend the afternoon, but regardless it felt nice to return.

Boxes filled with the bits of leftovers and display pieces still laid where they landed after the spring open house.  Unable to work without being in pain left me with no desire to head to the studio. I felt out of place when I was there and looking out onto the garden that had yet to be worked in as well (until just recently – thanks mom!) left me even more stressed.

There is a lot of work yet to be done (both inside and out!) and the “patience” and downtime that I was prescribed now also from my wrist specialist makes idle time difficult to tolerate.  The amount of progress that was made in just a few hours was refreshing.  The space that had felt foreign began to take shape and feel more comfortable to at least be in.  I’m itching to get started on new fall pieces and test the wrist a bit to see how things go!

I think about you and your recovery often. My wish is that you recover fully and enjoy everything you do and create!! and when all that happens I need a "Carrie" package!! Get well soon.
