It happens in Nebraska ... a winter storm that keeps you in your house. We had planned to be out on the town on our day off, but as it turns out, the best place to be was here at home. It was the perfect way to start our weekend. We played cards, watched some of our favorite movies and created some amazing dishes as well.

Friday as the snow fell we baked cookies in between doing this ...
We started Valentines day off with this ...
8 oz of cream cheese - zest of one orange - juice of half that orange - one Tbsp of brandy - one Tbsp sugar. Mix and spread in between two slices of thick cut Italian white bread. Take and dredge in egg/milk wash - Place 3 Tbsp of veg oil in non stick skillet and fry until golden brown. Top with powdered sugar and Maple syrup.

We paired it with a bottle of Stags Leap Karia Chardonnay ... listened (and danced) to my new Bon Iver and Ray LaMontagne cds (thank you Ran! ) ... Lithuanian Torte for dessert ... and we slept oh so soundly! It was perfect.
