CHANGE has come!

Possibilities ... hope ... closing the lines of division ...acceptance of all things different and even unknown. A time for learning and becoming informed of issues, places and people. SO many things lay ahead - good things for our country. If we can come together and work as hard as all sides did for this election ... the potential is unbounded.
It is a time for growth.

I remember in January when the Iowa caucus was finished and I listened to Barack Obama speak after his win. His words were so powerful, his message SO clear, and I sat up in bed (trying to wake my husband :-)) and thought to myself "THIS IS HISTORY!" It just felt different - it felt unlike anything I had seen or experienced before.

I stood with 15,000 people to hear him speak in Omaha. I supported how I could. I crossed party lines. We stood in line to cast our vote. We spread the word. I believe that this is a time for our nation to grow and be stronger in the world today. It is time to move past and move on. It was moving - it was emotional - and I was glad to be a part of it all. Of course we couldn't sit back and watch history unfold alone ... we even hosted an election party!!!!

The next generation will ask us - "where were you on that day?"

Change has come ... it will not come easy, and all will not believe it possible nor will everyone support it, but it is coming! Ignorance and fear are no longer an excuse. The world was watching us and there were just so many questions and so much uncertainty - and to quote Barack ... "It's the answer told by lines that stretched around schools and churches in numbers this nation has never seen, by people who waited three hours and four hours, many for the first time in their lives, because they believed that this time must be different, that their voices could be that difference. ... It's been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this date in this election at this defining moment change has come to America."
